HOW TO USE A DESIGNER:

Interior designers aren’t just for the rich and famous!

Whether you want a few hours of consultation or a total makeover,

I’ll work with your budget.

Most people don’t realize you can call on a designer for almost any decorating need.  They’ll spend an hour helping you match wallpapers or take more time to plan a floor to ceiling re-do.  Here’s how to get the help you want at a price you can afford.

WHAT A DESIGNER CAN DO FOR YOU:

  • Provide general advice and help set your priorities.   A good interior designer can offer suggestions for room arrangements, color schemes, and window treatments, based on knowledge of what is available in your price range and what is appropriate for each use.

  • Pull a house together-  If you’ve moved your old furniture into your new house, a designer can help you bring the new look together.

  • Complete a room-  A designer can help you with smaller projects, such as fine tuning one room or decorating to include an heirloom piece of furniture.

  • Coordinate a floor to ceiling makeover.- A designer can help you create a dream come true.

  • Make furniture recommendations- If your primary need is new furniture, my design service can guide you to make a smart choice as to size , fabric selection and finishes that will compliment your design plan.  I will help you determine floor plans, then help you arrange for your furniture purchase.

  • Help you personalize your home.  An interior designer can help you add the finishing touches that give a room that special “magazine look.”  Some designers suggest that you reserve 15-20% of your budget to purchase one of a kind accessories that will transform a well-furnished room into a personal environment tailored to your own tastes. Keep in mind too, that one of the advantages of using an interior designer is access to-the-trade items, including fabrics, furniture, and accessories that contribute to your homes one of a kind look.   Where I have the ability to offer you any discounts I may receive as a professional courtesy, I will extend to you.

  • Work with your contractor or Architect- Act as a liasion between you and your contractor for extra help understanding the scope of your project.

  • Work with what you have-  One service that is gaining popularity is “one day decorating.”  For a one time fee, an interior designer, often referred to as an interior arranger, will visit your home and offer suggestions for working with what you already have by rearranging furniture, swapping artwork between rooms, recovering furniture, and painting walls.

  • Staging is a beneficial way to prepare your house for the the real estate market.  I can help you edit and rediscover those  wasted spaces to show your home to its full advantage for a quick sale  This service can also be helpful if you are hosting a party or event at your home.

  • Accessorizing- If you have successfully completed the majority of your new design on your own, but you could use some help pulling the finishing touches together, this type of service could be  for you!!

  • Window treatments-Many people struggle when it comes to this part of the job, but it is a specialty of mine! Selecting fabrics and styles to enhance your decor is the best way to make your room show its best completed appearance. Drapes, cornices, or valances give a room a polished look that has been given thought and attention to every detail.

  • Discussing Money- My service is an initial home decorating visit for $150, $50 to be applied to a future consultation appointment.  Additional in home consultations are $75 per hour.
